Choosing a Dual 12 Inch Subwoofer Box

12-inch sub woofer box

I needed to find a dual 12 inch box for my subs fast. I had already purchased my subwoofers and now I had the chronic addiction of hearing my subwoofers pound inside of a box. There were so many different variables that I needed to look at and decide. I have made a small list to help anyone that is looking at buying a box for their subwoofers that will sound the best. The first variable you want to look into is, what type of sound do you desire to get our of your subwoofers. If your looking for the deepest sound inside the car that is crisp and quick as possible, you want a sealed box. Sealed boxes are just a box that is sealed and has no air gaps. These have been around for ages, and are very reputable to go with.If you want the bass to be heard from other people outside of your car and as far away as possible, than a vented box is more your style. Vented boxes are somewhat new technology and are said to be double the loudness in a lot of instances. Your subwoofer will have special specifications of what frequencies the port or vent should be tuned to.The box can make or break how loud your system is, so it's a huge deal. I have seen the cheapest car audio equipment sound ten times louder than a guy that spend thousands because the box was better designed. Look into what box best suits you and your subwoofer. You may regret it, if you don't make the correct choice from the get go.

How to Build a Boat - Small Wooden Sail Boat

By Francis Drake

To build a wooden boat you will need wooden planks. Now, the dimensions of the planks will depend on what wood you are using.  If you are using cypress wood then there will be eight different dimensions according to which you will have to shape the planks. All of these eight kinds of planks will be required for building the boat. However, if you are building the boat out of oak then there will be about six different types of plank requirements. If, Georgia pine then three types while if it is white pine then it will be just one dimension and five planks of this same dimension. Now, when you are building a sail boat then obviously you will build one with a flat bottom. Ask yourself how to make a boat and then you know that the most important thing to keep in mind during this type of boat building is the stem. No matter what you build your boat out of, the stem will have to be of good white oak. Then you will need the sideboards, two in number. Saw them properly and then plane them. Now make the mould which can be made of old material also. Leave some space for the stringers and make the stern board next. After this is ready, nail up the sideboards to the stem with a hammer making sure that you nail then in a double row. Now you can set in the moulds. While doing this keep in mind that the moulds should be perpendicular to the boats centre. Fasten all the moulds and the transom and then use the galvanized nails that are used for permanent nailing of a boat. Now it is time to put on the bottom. Do this by turning the boat upside down and then nail the floor with the sideboard along with the stringer. Make sure that there is no caulking; for this you need to make the joint between the boats as tight as you can. Now, turn it over on its bottom and get the seats placement. The seats should strictly be made of cypress as then they will be pretty comfortable. Then what you have to do is cut slots, two, out from the centreboard. After this you should fasten two posts at these points. Now you have to nail in the keel and the floor firmly so that no mishap occurs. Now place the beams of the deck, curving them as you do. Now when everything is done you should get the cockpit ready si that the combing can take place. After you do this, get ready for the canvas deck. Paint with thick paint, white in color. More or less after this, your boat structure is built. You will only have to place the oars and additional material to turn into a complete boat. This is therefore the basic of how to make a boat, one which is a wooden sail boat. Finally you must remember that decent boat design software helps you to build the boat of your dreams. Probably the best idea is to get some sort of 3D boat design software that is affordable, easy and flexible to use and is suitable for anyone from the hobbyist model boat builder to professional mass ship producers.

Many people spend thousands of dollars on custom made wood speaker boxes. Most of these people do not know that you can make your own custom speaker enclosure for cheap.First off, you need to draw out a sample of what you are looking to make. Get the dimensions of your trunk to make sure that your box will fit correctly. Next you can use your measurements and samples to figure out about how much fiberglass and matting you need to make your box.We will just assume that we are going to make a one 12 inch subwoofer box that fits into the rear trunk panel. Make sure that you look at the specs on the subwoofer to make sure that the volume of the box will measure out correctly.Next you can get your fiberglass and matting. Any auto parts store should have what you need. You need to get about a gallon of fiberglass resin and about 5-6 packs of fiberglass mat. Dont forget to make sure that the fiberglass resin comes with hardener. Now we can set up how we what our box to fit in. Lay down painters tape in your trunk where you want the box to fit into. Make sure you go a little farther than you will actually make it so you don't get any resin on your carpet. Go ahead and mix your resin with your hardener and use a paint brush to paint on the resin over the tape to create the back of the subwoofer box. Cut out your fiberglass mat and lay it down over the resin. Paint another layer of resin over the newly laid down fiberglass mat.Now you just wait a couple hours until the fiberglass has hardened. Pull out the back of the enclosure you have just made. It should fit snugly into the trunk panel. Now you need to add 3-4 more layers of fiberglass matting to the inside of the back of the enclosure. This is to reinforce it, so it doesn't crack when the subs hit.Now that you have made the back of your subwoofer enclosure, we can start to make the front where the sub will go. For this part, you will need some 1/2 inch mdf, some dowel rods, glue, and some panty hose. Lay your sub face down on the mdf and draw a line around it. Cut out the circle with a jigsaw. Now you need to measure the inside of the sub ring, so you will make a ring that the subwoofer will fit into. Usually, subwoofers come with a measure ring you can use to make this. Now you can position the ring however you want the subwoofer to go. Cut your dowel rods so they keep the ring in place, where you want it to be. Glue the dowel rods to the inside of the back of the sub enclosure that fits into your trunk panel. Glue the other end to the ring. Now you should have a structure of what your sub box should look like. Now grab the panty hose and stretch them over the ring to the outside of the back of the box. This should make the box become enclosed. Staple or glue the panties hose so it stays in place. Paint a layer of resin over the panty hose and let it dry. You should now have a subwoofer enclosure that fits into your rear trunk panel. Now you need to cut out the inside ring where the subwoofer will go. Layer the inside of the enclosure with about 3-4 more layers of fiberglass mat and resin.Your sub box should be complete. Now you can drill some small holes in the back of the enclosure for your speaker wires. You can also grab some carpet (color of your choice) and lay the carpet over the front of the box, so it looks like it was suppose to be in your trunk. This is how to make a custom subwoofer enclosure. You can also lay bondo down over the fiberglass and sand it to down to paint it.

The Dual 12 Inch Subs and Enclosure Review

By Chris Weber

12-inch sub woofer box

The dual 12 inch subs and enclosure were really on my hot list when thinking of buying a car system. They are a descent brand that is somewhat new to the field. They hold a descent structure to their designs while holding one of the top appealing car audio products out there in my mind.Once dipping my toes into the car audio field, there wasn't a way out for me. It all started with my buddy asking me to go to a bass competition one day because I was super bored. I was somewhat dreading it, but was bored out of my mind. Who would of thought this car audio thing was going to blow my mind away instead? Hair tricks, shattering glass, ear bleeding sound levels. I was now addicted.I had a small budget due to the fact that I was a struggling college student. I needed a system to start with to cure my hunger for bass. I went to my local audio shop and did some hearing tests. It was pretty sweet to hear all of the different combos of amplifiers mixed with the subwoofers that I was going to buy.Turns out that the Dual amplifier mixed best with the subs. The guy informed me that most product lines were like that and that mix matching brands usually is not the best way. I purchased the system right there on hand. I installed the system myself after doing research. The system has been beating hard, and I am real happy with the Dual company. The amplifier does a descent job and the subs and enclosure help amplify the sound. I would advise this setup to absolutely anyone.
